Product description
The IR (infra-red) furnace is heated by twin IR sources, which are positioned along one focus of an elliptical cylindrical mirror. The infra-red radiation is reflected by the mirror onto a quartz tube, lying along the second ellipse focus. Oxygen may be passed through the quartz tube to combust samples placed within it.
- Rapid heating (room temp. to 1000 °C in 10 sec.) - Up to 5 intervals of constant or increasing temperature are freely programmable - The temperature is measured by a thermocouple located within the elliptical cylinder. - The elliptical mirror is constructed as two separable halves, enabling viewing of the combustion zone. - The upper mirror-half can be retracted on roller-bearings for rapid furnace cooling and inspection of the heated zone. - A "Heat Pipe" cooling system provides rapid cooling and obviates the need for expensive water cooling.
